Nothing phone (1) first impressions: What the Glyph?
The translucent back of the Nothing phone (1), which has a starting price of Rs 32,999 in India, gives it a distinctive appearance for an Android handset. Here is what we think of the phone so far.

The gadgets themselves have started to grow stale because there isn't anything new to excite customers while smartphone technology continues to improve in practically every element of its operation. Who presents a chance for businesses that are eager to experiment with novel features. The Nothing phone (1) from OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei's new business is receiving a lot of attention for this reason as well.
But within these panels are strips of LEDs which differentiate this phone even more. Nothing refers to it as the Glyph interface, a new method for the phone to draw you in and possibly even connect with you to some extent. As a result, you may choose ringtones and notification tones that not only have distinctive sounds but also sync with the LED strips in various ways. This implies that you can assign various Glyph notes to various contacts and message kinds. Additionally, the lights themselves will alert you to a caller when on mute.

If you want to attract attention, the LEDs can also match with your music and turn your phone into a little wedding tableaux. However, I was unable to make this work with Apple Music and YouTube Music apps. I'll have to test it out with music files that I have locally preserved.
The Glyph may also be used with Google Assistant; it's entertaining to watch the 'G' LED light up when you say "Hello Google." You can also choose to place your phone face down so that all you see when you receive an incoming call or message are the muted LED lights, such as when you are in a conference. When you first briefly plug in the charger, the Glyph also functions.
Despite the flourish of the Glyph, the interior interface is an uncluttered version of Android with a few improvements that improve the user experience and make it simpler to discover things. The ability to enlarge an app icon or folder that you use more frequently than others on the Home Screen is what I find to be the nicest part of this.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor inside the Nothing phone (1) enables it to function on 5G networks. The 33W wired charger, which must be purchased separately, can quickly recharge the 4,500mAh battery.
I sort of agree with Nothing when she says that average users don't actually need three cameras. Due to this, the phone only has two 50MP cameras, one of which has a broad field of view. However, the camera has settings for macro and professional modes and can capture 4K video at 30 frames per second.

The Nothing phone (1), in my opinion, is a product that rethinks at least some parts of the smartphone in order to stand out in a very saturated market. It is obvious that the Glyph interface has the power to draw in users, at least those who are youthful and tech-savvy. But will that be enough to turn this phone into a success? Later this week, we will go into more detail in our comprehensive review.
Starting at Rs 32,999, the Nothing phone (1) goes all the way up to Rs 38,999 for the 12GB RAM+256GB variant.
A 4,500 mAh battery is anticipated to power the phone, which would be assisted by a quick cable charging system.
The second device in Nothing's product lineup will be the phone (1). The first were released last year and are called Nothing ear (1) wireless earbuds (review). The ear (1) wireless earbuds were a lot of earbuds for the money. Both the earphones and the shell were transparent, exposing the inside components of the product, including the microphones, magnets, and circuit board. It is anticipated that the phone (1) will have a transparent design aesthetic similar to that of the wireless earphones. For one of the variations, a price of Rs 30,000 or less is anticipated.
